  • Probably not. I would tend to think that without UMIs, single PCR duplicate events are indistinguishable from natural duplication that is likely to occur in RNA-seq.
    There are methods like dupRadar to diagnose global duplication problems in samples. I found the Sayol et al. dupradar paper is a particularly interesting read on the topic.
